Naomi’s Classes: Grounded, Compassionate, and Holistically Healing

Naomi’s yoga and meditation classes are deeply rooted in her passion for self-discovery, healing, and personal growth. With a teaching style influenced by Ashtanga Vinyasa, her holistic, grounded, and sustainable approach focuses on embodied movement and breath to cultivate self-understanding, compassion, and acceptance.

After graduating with a Communication degree from Griffith University in 2004, Naomi’s journey took her to Kathmandu, Nepal, where she worked as a journalist. There, she felt a profound connection to the spiritual elements of the region, which ultimately inspired her to deepen her yoga practice years later after the birth of her two daughters. Yoga became her sanctuary, helping her feel grounded, clear, and present as a mother.

In 2013, Naomi completed her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Michelle Cassidy at Essence of Living, followed by Trauma Sensitive Yoga training with Shirley Hicks in 2014. Her work has included empowering survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse through yoga in women’s shelters and establishing a trauma-sensitive yoga therapy program in Cambodia.

Naomi’s teachings are also influenced by esteemed mentors such as Nicky Knoff, Dena Kingsberg, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Pema Chödrön. As a qualified holistic counselor registered with the Australian Counselling Association, Naomi integrates her therapeutic expertise into her classes, offering students tools to navigate life with greater ease, confidence, and purpose.

When Naomi isn’t teaching or counseling, you’ll find her hiking in nature, exploring Zen Buddhism, or spending time with her two daughters.
