New Years Day Meditation Retreat with @rose_lamont. On the first day of the year, let’s come together to practice yoga/meditation and reconnect with the deeper currents of life that flow through us. This full day of silent sadhana will be a journey into the very heart of our being, where we spend the full day turning our awareness inward to consciously work with meditation techniques that address the vrittis / vasanas (the latent/ unconscious tendencies of the mind) through meditation.
Schedule:
7:00am – 8:30am: Pranayama (Breathwork) The breath is the bridge between the mind and the body. Through pranayama, we learn to quiet the restless mind, to still the turbulence within. In this 90-minute practice, we will explore the sacred art of channeling our prana / the subtle currents using the breath. It is not the act of breathing that matters, but the awareness with which we breathe. In silence, the breath becomes the vehicle for the awakening of deeper consciousness.
8:30am – 10:00am: Asana (Yoga Practice)
This asana practice is not about achieving perfect postures but about creating space within—space for awareness, for presence, for stillness. Through the postures, we learn to inhabit our bodies fully, to explore the subtle energy that moves through us, and to align the physical with the mental. Each posture is an invitation to dive deeper into the silence within.
Break 30min - Tea and Fruit
10:30am – 12.00pm: Silent Meditation Meditation is the art of awareness without interference. It is in silence that we come to know the mind’s true nature. During this period of silent practice, we will sit in stillness and observe the flow of thoughts, emotions, and sensations without attachment. This is not an exercise in control, but in observation. Through non-judgmental awareness, we dissolve the boundaries between the observer and the observed, between the self and the universe.
